ITEMS AND EQUIPMENT
Equipment refers any item that can be equipped in an equipment slot, as distinguished from items that can only be carried in inventory. Equipment can improve HP, PP, EP, and can also come with bonus effects depending on the equipment's quality.
An item is something that a character can carry in their inventory, represented by an inventory icon found in their inventory page. Items share the same quality types as equipment do. Items can improve HP, PP, EP, and can also come with bonus effects depending on the item's quality.
A character can purchase items and equipment from vendors, can receive items and equipment as rewards for quests, and can loot items from many objects, such as corpses of kills. Most items and equipment can be sold to vendors. Depending on how an item and/or equipment binds, it may be able to be sold, traded or mailed to another character.
ITEM AND EQUIPMENT QUALITY
LEVEL 1 [attr="class","poor"]POOR Usually worth 2 Gold or less. Obtained from common, low-level enemies most of the time. Poor quality weapons and armor usually only have one stat bonus or none at all. Best to sell to vendors or just discard.
LEVEL 2 [attr="class","average"]AVERAGE Usually worth 10 Gold or less. Obtained from vendors or low-level enemies most of the time. Common quality weapons and armor usually have one stat bonuses. Best to sell to vendors or just discard.
LEVEL 3 [attr="class","good"]GOOD Usually worth 15 Gold or less. Obtained from crafting, quests, and random drops from enemies. Good quality weapons and armor usually have two stat bonuses.
LEVEL 4 [attr="class","exceptional"]EXCEPTIONAL Usually worth 20 Gold or less. Obtained from crafting, quests, heroic bosses, and rare random drops from enemies. Exceptional quality weapons and armor usually have three stat bonuses.
LEVEL 5 [attr="class","outstanding"]OUTSTANDING Usually worth 25 Gold or less. Obtained from high-end crafting, quests, elite bosses, and rare random drops from enemies. Outstanding quality weapons and armor usually have three stat bonuses and an extra effect.
[attr="class","legendary"]LEGENDARY Legendary items are very rare, and only obtainable through certain one time events. Legendary quality weapons and armor usually have three stat bonuses and an extra effect. They have unique abilities and uses to them, some being impossible to destroy or keep for long. They do not suffer durability loss.
SOULBOUND
Soulbound is the property of an item that prevents it from being traded or mailed to another character or sold. Items usually become soulbound in one of the following ways:
- Acquiring the item marked as "Bind on Pickup". Items given as quest rewards are usually BoP.
- Equipping an item that is marked as "Bind on Equip". Most of the better equipable items bind on equip.
- Using an item that is marked as "Bind on Use".

Bind on Pickup ("BoP"), displayed in-game as Binds when picked up, refers to an item which becomes soulbound when the item is:
- looted from a corpse or container
- given as a quest reward from an NPC or directly from the quest
- purchased from a vendor
- crafted by a player
- received through the in-game mail
bind on Equip
An item is Bind on Equip (BoE) if it becomes soulbound when equipped by a player character.
bind on Use
An item is Bind on Use (BoU; also called "Binds when used") if it becomes Soulbound when first used. This is used for objects that are used but do not need to be equipped.

ARMOR
Armor is a class of items that boost character stats and are equipped in the different armor slots: head, shoulder, back, chest (aka body), wrist, hands, waist, legs, feet, and off-hand for a shield.
ARMOR TYPES
There are three armor types available. Depending on the armor type characters choose during character creation is the type of armor a character will be looting and be able to equip throughout the game.
ARMOR EQUIPMENT SLOTS
There are nine core slots that a character can equip armor items into and optionally carry a shield in their off-hand. The nine slots for equipping armor to are the character's head, shoulder, back, chest (aka body), waist, legs, feet, wrist, and hands. If a shield is held in the off hand the character is limited to using weapons that require only one hand to use.
DURABILITY LOSS
Durability loss happens when a character decides to revive at the same location they had fallen. The more times a character chooses to revive at the same location they were defeated, the more durability loss that character's equipment takes.
First time reviving at location - Minus item quality level to 1 items. Second time reviving at location - Minus item quality level to 1 items. One item completely breaks. Third time reviving at location - Minus item quality level to 2 items. Another item completely breaks. Fourth time reviving at location - Minus item quality level to 2 items. A third item completely breaks.
