HERE COMES A NEW PLAYER
When you plug in your game and connect to Faley for the first time you are met with a character creation menu. This is where you create the avatar that will represent you in the word. This is what other players will see, regardless of who you are in the real world. This means your avatar can look entirely different from the real you. The two major factors in character creation are your race and class, these things will not only affect how your avatar looks, but it is a core feature that affects your gameplay as well.

RACES
You can choose from a number of unique races in Faley. Races do not define your class or factions, though character interactions might differ depending on in-game lore regarding that race. The game has a few built-in races to choose from, but the player may also create their very own unique race (what we call a custom race).
If you would like your race to be part of the lore, built into events and a permanent fixture of the world, there is an option to purchase an Official Playable Race Certificate.
Check the shop for more details on certifying your race. You do not need to certify your race to be able to apply to your own original race. Just make sure they fit in the game's universe. Classic fantasy races like any variation of elves, orcs, gnomes, dwarves and the like are always welcome. No deities, angels or demons, please. The three main races are followers of the three major gods in the Faleyan pantheon: Gaea, Luna, and Solar.
SHIFTERSmagical | in tune with nature | beast creatures Shifters are children of the Earth, a goddess also known as Gaea, who blessed her children with the ability to change their form at will. Shifters come in various shapes and sizes. They can be charismatic and have high levels of manipulation. However, regardless of their uncanny social abilities, due to their fluctuating nature, they tend to keep to themselves, elusive to all other races.
MOONFOLKseers | knowledge seekers | human Children of the Moon, a goddess also known as Luna, are gifted with sight beyond sight. They can see what's to come. Only seven can be blessed with her gift at a time. These special seven are marked with white hair. The larger the amount of white they have in their hair, the further the extent of their visions. They are people of knowledge and tend to be perceptive, intelligent and witty.
SOLARSwarriors | conquerors | elven Solars are children of the Sun, a god also known as Solar. They are gifted with physical attributes, like strength, dexterity and vast amounts of stamina. They have an air of superiority to them. Solar gifts his children with painful burning tattoos of various symbols infused with light magic that boosts their physical abilities.
OTHER RACESThere are countless races waiting to be discovered. Foreign Humans, Gremlins, Goblins, Orcs, Forgotten Elves to name a few, but because they are not common on the continent of Iuvenesco they will simply be mentioned here. If any of these begin to grow in numbers they might get their own page as well.

CLASSES
Classes are built by players by selecting their affinity, assault traits, and armor. Keep in mind that each option has bonuses to a set of particular stats, which will certainly affect gameplay. As a player you may name your class and add any description you would like, as long as they fit in the game's universe. Even the abilities and spells are custom built by players.
AFFINITY Is a players game style preference, each providing a boost to particular stats. Players are later able to acquire a second affinity by purchasing it in the bazaar from a trainer.
TANK [ + HP | + PP ]Tanks defend themselves and ensure enemies don’t focus on their softer-skinned allies. Their job is to get enemies to focus their aggression on themselves, instead of their team. All tanks have an affinity spell or ability which taunts. The taunt always starts poor tier. The tier level will determine how many targets this spell or ability can effect.
HEALER [ + EP | + HP ]Healers keep tanks alive by—you guessed it—using their abilities to heal and support them. All healers have an affinity spell or ability which heals. The heal always starts poor tier. The tier level will determine how many targets this spell or ability can effect.
DAMAGE [ + PP | + EP ]Damage dealers exist to do one thing, and do it well: kill enemies as fast as possible. All damage dealers have an affinity spell or ability which deals damage. This affinity spell or ability always starts poor tier. The tier level will determine how many targets this spell or ability can effect. BATTLE RANGE A player’s preferred range of attack, often dictating/restricting the avatar’s available weaponry. While they may boost one stat, they tend to weaken another. Players are later able to acquire a second assault/support trait by purchasing it in the bazaar from a trainer.
LONG RANGED [ + PP | — HP ]Capable of dishing out consistent damage, or support, from such a large distance, you probably didn't even see them coming. Sadly these tend to be the squishiest of the bunch.
RANGED [ + EP | — PP ]Through speed and power, they can increase the effectiveness of their ranged abilities.
MELEE [ + HP | — EP ]These players are all up in your face, probably even going as far as using their own faces to bash your own in. This might be why they tend to lack a few screws.
ARMOR TYPE Is the type of item your character will equip that helps mitigate damage and provide boosts to their stats.
LIGHT [ ++ EP | + PP ]This armor can be crafted by Tailors.
MEDIUM [ ++ PP | + EP ]This armor can be crafted by Leatherworkers.
HEAVY [ ++ HP | + PP ] This armor can be crafted by Blacksmiths.

CLICKING THE CREATE BUTTON
Once you've decided on which race you're using, be it pre-made or custom, and choose your class, the next step is to distribute your points in your character's base stats. The choices you make in your base stats and class will greatly determine your play style in the game. All character stats start poor (1), with three points to distribute between their HP, PP and EP. Those numbers might sound small, but since these numbers increase with class selection and then even further with abilities and gear, it all adds up rather quickly.
